Modest swimwear is all about giving women the freedom to hit the beach or pool in their own way. It’s a sartorial celebration of diversity and comfort. These swimsuits offer great coverage without compromising on style, letting women from different backgrounds enjoy water activities without having to compromise their personal beliefs and comfort zones. This push for inclusive fashion was brilliantly highlighted at Istanbul Modest Fashion Week in Turkey, where Halima Aden, renowned for being the first hijabi model globally, presented a new line of modest swimsuits from Marina.
The Somali-American model’s runway appearance was one of the highlights of the global modest fashion week series’ 9th edition.
Marina, a staple in modest fashion for eight years, has expanded its reach to 60 countries across five continents. Their latest swimsuit collection was not only stunning but also sent out a message of empowerment and the beauty of individuality.
The event attracted a diverse crowd, from Istanbul’s top business and art circles to fashion lovers, influencers, and media representatives from different parts of the world including the UAE, Saudi, Indonesia and Serbia, just to name a few.
Marina unveiled a new slogan: “Be Yourself, Be Marina.” This message about embracing personal style and comfort resonated wide and well. Halima herself delivered the slogan in both Turkish and English during the show, making a strong impression.
The collaboration between Halima Aden and Marina received a lot of praise, with attendees praising the brand for encouraging women to express themselves while staying comfortable.
