Olivier Rousteing, creative director of Balmain, once again turned heads with his latest Spring 2025 collection, where the lines between fashion and beauty are beautifully blurred. Debuting during Paris Fashion Week, the collection perfectly coincided with the launch of Les Éternels de Balmain, a new fragrance line in partnership with Estée Lauder Cos.
The runway was an immersive experience that fused the worlds of high fashion and innovative beauty, making a statement on the transformative power of both. Models strutted down in bold, architectural looks—think sharp, angular shoulders and unexpected embellishments we’ve come to expect from Rousteing. Rhinestone-encrusted perfume bottle clutches doubled as stunning accessories, symbolising Balmain’s expanding presence in the beauty world with its latest fragrance collection.
With the Les Éternels collection already available at select counters and projected to generate $50 million in its first year, Rousteing hinted at exciting future beauty ventures, potentially extending into lipstick and nail care. His signature bold beauty motifs—embroidered red lips and painted fingers—adorned sculptural cocktail dresses and jumpsuits, reinforcing the notion that beauty is central to his evolving fashion narrative.
Another bold nod to the fashion-meets-beauty narrative was the makeup palette-inspired clutch, a statement piece shaped like an oversized cosmetic palette. The clutch featured colourful blocks reminiscent of eyeshadows and blushes.
“Fashion cannot exist without beauty, and beauty cannot exist without fashion. Beauty is part of your silhouette, of who you are, just like the way you dress. I want to represent all the beauties of the world and welcome everyone without exceptions.” said the creative director in a previous statement on the launch of the latest fragrance collection.
