A year ago, Soigné Middle East started as a digital-first publication with a mission to empower, include, and celebrate diversity in fashion, beauty, and culture. Now, as we celebrate our first anniversary, we’re taking this mission to print with the launch of our debut biannual issue—an unapologetic love letter to all women who refuse to fit into conventional molds.
Fashion, they say, is a reflection of the times we live in. Yet, for an industry worth over $4 billion, modest fashion has often stood at the crossroads of progress and perception—growing rapidly in influence yet remaining underrepresented. And with our first-ever print edition, we hope to rewrite this narrative.
Fronting this milestone issue is Ameni Esseibi, the region’s first curvy model, whose fearless journey has challenged every stereotype the industry has been slow to shed. Draped in modest attire, Ameni embodies the theme of this issue, Modest is Bold, as a symbol of change, showing the world that modesty is not a quiet retreat but a loud assertion of identity—an audacious expression of self.
We stand for a future where inclusivity is no longer a fleeting campaign trend but the bedrock of fashion’s identity. Where women of all sizes, ethnicities, and styles are not afterthoughts but central to the industry’s narrative.
Modesty, often misunderstood as limiting, conservative, or bound by religious or cultural constraints, is redefined for what it truly is—a fearless act of self-expression. It’s about taking ownership of how you want to be seen in a world that often moves away from or dismisses the concept in its pursuit of modernity and narrow ideals of boldness. It’s about discovering strength in choice and celebrating individuality in its most authentic form.
The stories within these pages reflect our values, honouring the women who refuse to conform, who break barriers and spark change. This issue is also a reminder that true change begins with those who dare to redefine the story.
Issue 001 will soon be available for order on our website.
