Moschino Fall/Winter 2025: Fashion Unfinished, and All the Better for It

Raw edges, bold irony, and a nod to craftsmanship in motion.

By now, Adrian Appiolaza’s latest collection for Moschino has had time to sink in—and if one thing is clear, it’s that minimalism has officially taken a back seat. With “Tools of the Trade,” Appiolaza delivered a collection that ripped apart the rules of construction and put them back together with Moschino’s signature irreverence, proving that deconstruction doesn’t have to mean destruction.

The runway was a playful work-in-progress, quite literally. Selvedge seams mimicked logo tape, oversized bows appeared and disappeared mid-garment, and silhouettes looked as though they were still being assembled on the dress form. Franco Moschino’s iconic 1992 mannequin dress resurfaced as a blueprint for the collection, reinforcing the brand’s tradition of poking fun at the industry while delivering serious fashion.

A collaboration with Sanderson of London introduced archival florals—but, in true Moschino fashion, they were reworked into whimsical prints featuring smiling flowers and glowing light bulbs. Elsewhere, distressed denim and oversized leather jackets gave the collection a clash between couture and workwear.

But beneath all the irony and wit was a bigger message. The closing look—a revival of Franco Moschino’s iconic “SOS Save Our Sphere”—was a call for awareness, a reminder that fashion can be fun and thought-provoking at once.
