While summer means life will soon shift indoors, the season brings in an energy that makes staying indoors impossible. With every invite comes a possibility to wear something fun and live life to the fullest. So if you’ve already got your calendar packed and settling on outfits to wear to every occasion, here’s a cheat sheet to streamline the process.

Destination Wedding

People in the region need no excuse to escape from the heat and humidity of the summer months, but a destination wedding provides a pretty neat one. For this event, opt for gowns and jumpsuits that easily transition from day to night. Cape styles keep things loose and breezy, which allows for circulation that keeps the body cool. Whereas shiny fabrics like silks and satin are an easy pick to bring an oomph without doing too much.

White Parties

While invites to white parties make putting together an outfit easy, if you’re looking to switch things up, then turn to polka dots, sequins, and feathered accents. Still blending in, these styles make dressing up fun even when limited to a dress code.

Garden Parties

The early months of summer just might be cool enough to enjoy a garden party with friends and family. And to enjoy it to the fullest, stick to breathable fabrics like linen in maxi skirts and dresses. If it looks too plain, then you can always break up the monotony with a lace scarf. As for prints, opt for florals if you’d like to be on the nose and stick to the theme of nature; gingham prints keep the look trendy, and depending on the colour, so can monochromatic.

Brunches & Afternoon Tea

While brunches and afternoon teas in the region are evergreen events, for summertime, opt for sundresses or abayas that leave room for any potential bloating. And of course, keep things colourful with vibrant prints.

Pool Party

It can be tricky to fashion modest wear for a pool party. But it is very much possible with printed kaftans and maxi dresses, paired with raffia bags that grounded the look into natural summer elements. Avoid any body-con styles as those would become uncomfortable once the heat sets in.

Sundowners

Sundowners are the perfect opportunity to keep things casual and chic with denim. With the right cut of jeans, you can play around with tops, going for cape styles, asymmetrical ones, vivid colours that juxtapose the legs or corset styles to pair with baggy denim.

Dinner Parties

For summer dinner parties, why not stick to the trends and opt for a drop waist dress? The elongated torso brings a classic silhouette that looks refined, especially at night. Or opt for ruched pieces, where pleats gather together and form their own style. Paired with a statement bag, it turns a trend into a polished look.
