After initially announcing its fourth edition for October 15 to 20, 2026, Riyadh Fashion Week has officially postponed its dates to 2027.

The postponement comes amid security concerns as the Kingdom faces Houthi attacks. As of now, more than 4,000 flights that were set to depart from Saudi Arabia have been cancelled or grounded.

Since its inception in 2023, Riyadh Fashion Week has given Saudi designers a larger stage to present their work, while attracting increasing attention from international fashion houses, buyers and attendees.

Last year, British fashion house Vivienne Westwood opened the 2025 edition with its Middle Eastern runway debut, presenting a collection that included gowns embroidered by Saudi artisans in collaboration with Art of Heritage. Stella McCartney closed the week with her first Saudi runway presentation, while homegrown names including Atelier Hekayat, Abadia, Hindamme and Tima Abid brought their own perspectives to the catwalk.

Beyond the international arrivals, the event has become an important showcase for Saudi craftsmanship, contemporary ready-to-wear, couture and streetwear, reflecting the breadth of the Kingdom’s design scene.

The exact 2027 dates are still underway. The postponement follows other cancellations and delays that have affected other cultural and entertainment events across the Kingdom, including the Red Sea International Film Festival, the EU-Gulf Summit, and more.
