A Diwali dinner in Dubai can take many forms. At Jamavar, it takes the shape of a garden. Think grand floral arrangements, beautifully dressed tables and a four-course Indian feast that gives the traditional festive gathering a rather special setting.
For the second year running, Michelin-starred Jamavar Dubai has joined forces with Indian design house Good Earth for Diwali: A Feast in Chahar Bagh, bringing together two names that know how to celebrate Indian heritage. The collaboration takes its inspiration from the Chahar Bagh, the four-part paradise garden that has influenced Persian and Mughal architecture for centuries.
And while the inspiration may be centuries old, the experience is very much a contemporary Dubai affair.
Four Courses, One Beautifully Set Table
The garden theme goes well beyond the décor. Jamavar’s Culinary Director, Surender Mohan, has designed a four-course tasting menu that follows the four quadrants of the Chahar Bagh, taking diners on a culinary journey through India’s regional flavours.
It begins with Nazakat ke Bhalle, a fresh interpretation of the much-loved Indian chaat, before moving to the smoky flavours of the tandoor. Expect Dill Malai Jhinga and Bhatti ka Murgh, with vegetarian alternatives including Bhatti ka Paneer and Wild Mushroom Galouti.

Then comes the part of an Indian feast everyone looks forward to: the mains. Jamavar’s Old Delhi Butter Chicken makes an appearance alongside Achari Gosht, Gucchi Mutter and Shahi Paneer Hara Pyaaz, accompanied by an assortment of traditional sides, pulao, raita and breads.

And because no Diwali gathering feels complete without something sweet, the experience ends with Shahi Kala Jamun, featuring pistachio, saffron and basundi.
If Jamavar is responsible for the feast, Good Earth has taken care of the setting. Known for its imaginative interpretations of Indian craftsmanship, the design house brings the Chahar Bagh concept into the restaurant through abundant floral displays and richly detailed tablescapes.
Whether it’s an excuse to dress up for a festive dinner or an opportunity to rediscover Indian cuisine in a different setting, this is one Diwali table worth making a reservation for.
