Celebrating a decade of success, the region’s most popular arts and culture event, Quoz Arts Fest, kicked off on Saturday, January 27, with over 200 cool experiences for the like-minded community from across the region and beyond. The event featured live music, art, jaw-dropping performances, food trucks serving up delights, striking public art displays, wellness activities, and much more. It brought together 50+ creative ideas from all corners of Al Quoz, making it the ultimate celebration of creativity and diversity. Stick No Bills’ Medley of Traditional South Asian Instruments

The audience enjoyed DJ sets by Stick No Bills’ founder DJ Jeff, accompanied by live song and music performances that featured traditional instruments such as the sitar, tabla, and harmonium. The performance also included custom visuals created specifically for the event, showcased on expansive LED screens, ensuring that Stick No Bills delivered a truly unforgettable evening.

DJ Jeff is a Dubai based DJ and Producer who fuses South Asian sounds to convey the diversity, culture, art, and music of third culture South Asians in the region, highlighting the characteristic nature of the community.

Chef Hattem Mattar’s Live Fire Cuisine

Serving the UAE melt-in-your-mouth handcrafted smoked meats since 2005, Mattar is known for their second-to-none barbecue products and unique culinary experiences. Mattar’s live fire cuisine at Quoz Arts Fest includes tender BBQ, freshly prepared sides, along with a generous dollop of Texan hospitality.

MazMars Live Performance

Marsimba took center stage at the Quoz Arts Fest, delivering a standout performance that quickly became a festival highlight. With 203K subscribers and over 20+ million views on YouTube, the duo represents a musical celebration of the Sudanese community in the UAE via their quintessential cultural sounds.

Quoz Arts Fest 2024 day 1 featured the mesmerizing live performance and installation titled “Let The Record Show.” Audiences were captivated by the transformation of a car into a sonic sculpture, activated through spoken word. Dipesh Pandya, specifically for this event, incorporated new texts in the installation. These texts were thoughtfully written in response to the Al Quoz neighborhood where Alserkal Avenue is situated, adding a unique and enriching dimension to the artistic experience.

The audience experienced a boundary-blurring performance by Usha Jey, featuring a quixotic mix of Hip-hop and Bharatanatyam. Alongside contemporary dancers Mithu and Janu, the choreographed performance captivated with its unique fusion and artistic expression.
