Dubai Fashion Week: All the Exciting Highlights from Day Two

The runway saw collections inspired by the sea, desert and earth.

Last night, many fashion professionals gathered at Dubai Design District (D3) for day two of Dubai Fashion Week. The event featured new collections from Anaya, Humariff, and Rabat-based label Maison Sara Chraibi. Plus, there was a special Mrs. Keepa and Sotheby’s Dubai collaboration for the launch of the Mrs. Keepa Studio-Couture SS 24 collection.

Sara Chraibi’s Tribute to Morocco

DFW

Sara Chraibi, the visionary Moroccan designer, has effortlessly captured the essence of resilience and solidarity in the aftermath of last year’s earthquake in Morocco. Following a spectacular debut at Paris Haute Couture Week, she graced the stage at Dubai Fashion Week, seamlessly transporting her latest collection from the chic catwalks of France to the pulsating runway at the heart of the Dubai Design District. In a sartorial masterpiece collection titled “The Earth,” Chraibi unveiled a breathtaking array of flowing kaftans, dresses, gowns, and wraps. Adorned in a palette of earthy tones, each piece exuded sophistication, enriched further by intricate embellishments, playful fringe details, and exquisite embroidery. The collection stands as a testament to Chraibi’s unparalleled artistry, paying homage to both the resilience of the Moroccan people and the global fashion stage.

MRS. KEEPA X SOTHEBY’S

Mrs. Keepa, a member of DFW, joyfully celebrated the debut of her latest fashion collection, the Mrs. Keepa Studio-Couture SS 24, in partnership with the well-known auction house Sotheby’s Dubai. The collection, named the ‘Inhale Collection,’ showcased avant-garde designs influenced by the graceful shapes, textures, and movements of underwater creatures, such as Sea Lilies and Sea Nettles. The theme of escapism was explored throughout the collection.

In a notable collaboration, Dyson introduced the new Dyson Airstrait™️ straightener at DFW, making it the first time the product has been showcased at a global fashion week. These innovative hair styling tools were used to create stunning looks for 20 models during Mrs. Keepa’s show, inspired by the enchanting world beneath the waves.

Anaya’s Latest Collection

Anaya’s “La Nuit” collection takes a bold turn, shifting from a soft to a sophisticated style for the modern power woman, inspired by 1950s glamour and iconic figures like Audrey Hepburn. The collection featured a monochromatic palette with blacks, off-whites, nudes, greens, and vibrant reds, departing from pastel colors. The runway saw unique silhouettes, botanical motifs, corsets, embroidered laces, and sequins, blending traditional and modern elements. The overall mood, influenced by the past, was well reflected in both visuals and music.

HUMARIFF

Humariff’s fashion lineup at Dubai Fashion Week was created in partnership with Tamam Humariff and students Amina Nariman and Zara Khodei from the Humariff Academy. The collection drew inspiration from desert mirages, showcasing one-of-a-kind pieces that highlighted the beauty of nature across various seasons. Featuring blooming flowers, rhinestones, beads, and sequins, the collection incorporated three-dimensional flowers that could be swapped and used as prints, appliqués, or stand-alone accessories.
