The Inaugural Red Sea Fashion Week Kicks off with KSA Designer Tima Abid’s Opening Show

Over the course of three days, the Red Sea Fashion Week is set to feature not only runway shows but also various activation.

The sunlit Red Sea coast is now sparkling with more than just waves as the first-ever Red Sea Fashion Week kicks off, setting a vibrant stage for Saudi and international designers. Held at the St. Regis Red Sea Resort from May 16 to May 18, this event promises to be a feast for the eyes, with a lineup of regional brands showing off their latest in luxury and ready-to-wear fashion.

The opening featured a mesmerising show by renowned Saudi designer Tima Abid. Her collection, inspired by the Red Sea’s shimmering waters, showcased exquisite pieces crafted from tulle, chiffon, and sheer fabrics, adorned with crystal detailing and feathers. The event was a glamorous affair, with stars from “Dubai Bling” and influencers from across the region posing against the stunning backdrop and sharing their experiences on social media.

The first day wrapped up with a magical beachside dinner under the stars, where guests continued to revel in the fusion of luxury fashion and cultural heritage.

The fashion week is part of a broader initiative by the Saudi Fashion Commission to nurture local talent and put Saudi fashion on the global map. This initiative includes significant infrastructure developments, like the newly announced ‘The Lab’ in Misk City, designed to foster innovation in the fashion sector.

Over the course of three days, the Red Sea Fashion Week is set to feature not only runway shows but also various activations, highlighting 100 Saudi and international brands. This includes luxury fashion, jewellery, ready-to-wear, and resort wear, aiming to cater to a diverse array of tastes and preferences in the fashion community

Organised by the Saudi Fashion Commission, this event aims to position Saudi Arabia as a premier destination for luxury fashion, blending modern design with cultural heritage.
