When you think Louise Bourgeois, you probably picture giant spider sculptures, right? Fair enough. But the new Sandro capsule collection for Spring/Summer 2025 taps into a different side of the iconic French-American artist’s work. Evelyne Chetrite and the Sandro team honed in on Bourgeois’s fascination with spirals and her unique approach to fabric.

She had this interesting practice of using textiles from her own life, taking garments apart and reassembling them into new patchwork compositions—essentially upcycling before it was even a trend. This idea of deconstructing and reconstructing materials became the core inspiration for the latest Sandro capsule.

And it translates to summery, easy-wearing pieces where patterns get a fresh makeover—think geometric prints born from reimagined stripes. The collection features flowing shirts and pants, airy dresses, and a notable parasol skirt created from striped patchwork. It’s all rendered in natural fabrics like linen voile, cotton poplin, and silk twill, with Mediterranean blues setting the color palette.
Chetrite frames it as reflecting on our relationship with clothes and appreciating fashion “without succumbing to the excesses of ultraconsumerism,” echoing Bourgeois’s mindful approach.

Consider this your moodboard for elevated holiday dressing—equal parts intellect and ease where history becomes wearable.
