For the uninitiated, July 7th is World Chocolate Day. And even though we don’t really need a reason to grab a sweet treat, it would be a shame if we didn’t indulge ourselves a bit this Upcoming Monday. And while we can celebrate with any ol’ piece of chocolate, here are 9 spots to try if you want to spice up this sweet day.

Chocomelt | Dubai Mall

No matter how you want to celebrate with your chocolate, Chocomelt has got it covered. Brownies? Yup. Cheesecake? Of course! A fondue? It’s right there. If you’re indecisive, then this might not be the place for you, but if you have a super-specific chocolate craving, then give Chocomelt a try.

Ganache | Dubai Hills Mall

If you’re not a chocolate person but know someone who is, why not gift them chocolates for World Chocolate Day? With branches all over Dubai, this chocolatier features all sorts of creations, from the classic milk chocolate to the unique zaatar praline. Even better, you can find plenty of sugar-free options too!

Läderach | The Dubai Mall

If you want Swiss chocolates without actually going to Switzerland, then this chocolatier is the closest option you can get. With branches all over Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, you can have your pick from dark chocolate to raspberry chocolate and everything else in between. And if you’re wondering, yes, there’s a ‘Dubai Chocolate’ version too.

Lazy Cat | Al Quoz

Lazy Cat

If FoodTok is not on your phone then you might have missed this viral dessert. Dubbed the ‘Khaleeji Cake’, Krunchoco by Lazy Cat is chocolate meant to be shared. Set in a huge dish, this is a dessert made to be passed around and fought for the last scoop. Creamy and rich, there’s a reason why this went viral in the first place.

Mosaico | Palazzo Versace

Supplied

For those who wish to add a bit of luxe to their chocolate experience, you can now have your chocolate with a hint of gold. We’re not kidding, the Opera Gold Bar at Mosaico lounge is a chocolate dessert shaped like a gold bar and topped with 24-karat Gold! Inside is a creamy, rich Pistachio Kunafa filling, adding to the decadence. And if you wish to truly indulge, pair this dessert with their signature Golden Cappuccino.

Parker’s | Mirdif City Centre

Enjoying a slice of the Matilda cake might just be the classic way to celebrate World Chocolate Day. Inspired by the crazy cake in Matilda, the Matilda cake is a chocolate sponge with a rich chocolate ganache mixed with chocolate flakes. Basically, it’s chocolate, with chocolate, topped with chocolate, and we absolutely devour it every time.

Signor Sassi | St. Regis Gardens

Supplied

For chocolate connoisseurs looking for something new to excite their taste buds, how about an exclusive dessert at Signor Sassi? Created by Chef Gianluca Guinzoni in collaboration with G&G Dolci, this exclusive dessert is a celebration of chocolate in all its wonderful textures. Available from 7th to 9th July, the Passion for Chocolate needs no description because it’s all in the name—milk chocolate, chocolate namelaka (which is just a lighter form of ganache), and chocolate crunch. To break off all that chocolate is a passion fruit sorbet and a passion fruit sauce, giving each bite of this gourmet dessert a mix of flavour and texture.

Ting Irie | Downtown Dubai

Supplied

If you (or someone you know) needs some convincing, then will a free chocolate cake do? On July 7th, guests at Ting Irie will receive a complimentary slice of their decadent chocolate cake with their main course. Chocolate and Caribbean vibes is not a pairing you would normally think about, but Ting Irie is determined to change that and make World Chocolate Day a memorably sweet one.

Fix Dessert Chocolatier

Last but not the least (at all) Fix Dessert Chocolatier is home to Dubai’s now-legendary pistachio-knafeh bar, a sweet that rocketed to “viral” status on the internet. Order on Deliveroo (or drop by its DXB Terminal 3 kiosk) and you’ll find kataifi crunch, pistachio cream and Swiss milk chocolate wrapped into cheekily named Hero Bars like “Can’t Get Knafeh of It” (about Dhs 68 each). Arrive early: these bars sell out faster than you think.
