Lately, on TikTok, guides to dressing for your Venus sign are running rampant. The latest hook to curating style, a video on the topic can easily get you a cool 10K views. And while we always indulge in astrology with a grain of salt, there’s no harm in dabbling in the trend. After all, experimentation is the marker for good taste, and all this trend aims to do is to learn a new perspective of yourself.

But First, What is a Venus Sign?

If you thought astrology meant just the 12 zodiacs, then think again. Astrology is even more divisive, mapping out positions of celestial objects beyond the cluster of stars that we’re all familiar with. That means the planets in our solar system are just as involved as the stars, with each representing an aspect or temperament. Venus, in this case, represents romance, beauty, harmony, and aesthetics. Your Venus sign will depend on your natal chart, aka your place and time of birth.

What this means is that your Venus sign reflects your perception of beauty and aesthetics, as well as your taste and how you express it. And considering that style is all about expression, the ‘Venus sign style guides’ were only a matter of time.

The Possible Benefits of Dressing in Your Venus Sign

The benefits are mainly mental and spiritual (that is, if you believe in it). Because your Venus sign represents your taste, dressing in your sign helps to feel more confident, authentic, and comfortable.

Energies also come into play here. By dressing in your Venus sign, it is said to boost your mood, attracting positive energy into your life. In simple terms, since you’re dressing beautifully, that in turn means experiencing more beauty in your daily life.

In a practical sense, dressing for your sign helps to understand your own personal style more, building a framework that enhances your wardrobe without having to rely simply on trends. It also helps to reduce decision fatigue and create a more conscious shopper.

So, How Do You Dress According to Your Venus Sign?

As we said, the actual sign will depend on your natal chart. Zodiacs still come into play here as the Venus sign indicates which zodiac signs the planet Venus was in when you were born. For example, your zodiac could be Leo but your Venus sign could be Cancer. It’s confusing but simply put, your Venus sign is another zodiac sign.

Now, with the confusing bits taken care of, here’s how your Venus sign can dictate your style:

Venus in Aries

Giorgio Armani | Barathea Wool and Velvet Single breasted Jacket

Think bold, powerful, boss babe. Those who have their Venus in Aries are likely to experiment more, dress unconventionally, and create trends rather than follow them.

Power suits, asymmetrical designs, and avant-garde fashion were made for this sign!

Venus in Taurus

Atu Body Couture | Layered Necklace | Dhs 1289

Those who have their Venus in Taurus are likely drawn to opulent, luxurious pieces but still extremely feminine. More romance, as opposed to drama. The best colour palette for this sign is soft colours, pastels, and pearly whites, whereas pieces that fit this aesthetic are silk and lace dresses and pearl necklaces.

Venus in Gemini

Missoni | Stripe pattern Maxi Dress | Dhs  6844

Another sign drawn to experimentation. Just like Aries, those who have their Venus in Gemini are confident and experimental. However, instead of power suits, they are more likely drawn to loud prints, experimenting with colours instead.

Venus in Cancer

SH Collection| 3 piece Abaya Set in Linen | Dhs 1575

Those who have their Venus in Cancer will likely feel most like themselves in flowy, soft pieces. They are more likely to gravitate to vintage or timeless pieces rather than participating in trends. We’re talking simple cotton skirts and timeless linen sets.

Venus in Leo

Tadashi Shoji | Stellare Sequin embellished Gown | Dhs 3050

A sign that’s on the dramatic side, those who have their Venus in Leo are likely to be drawn to dramatic fashion. Think maximalist and extravagant, with dramatic motifs like feathers, studs, or any kind of bedazzled bling.

Venus in Virgo

SKIMS | Soft Lounge Dress in Modal Blend | Dhs 430

And on the opposite side of the spectrum, those who have their Venus in Virgo are drawn to minimalist, effortless style, where the luxury is rooted in the details. Think the SKIMS Lounge Dress or tailored pants—there’s not much happening, everything is simply clean

Venus in Libra

Ralph Lauren | Buttoned Placket Long Sleeve Polo Shirt | Dhs 810

Similar to Virgo, those who have their Venus in Libra will be drawn to classic, aka timeless, pieces. Unlike Virgo though, Venus in Libra is drawn to a more preppy ‘Old Money’ aesthetic rather than pure minimalism. Think polo shirts, cable knitwear, and tailored blazers.

Venus in Scorpio

Teri Jon | Off shoulder Ruffle Gown in Tulle | Dhs 4700

On the other hand, those who have their Venus in Scorpio are drawn to a moody, even gothic, style of fashion. Think blacks, browns, and deeper tones of the classic colour palette. It’s intense, slightly sultry, similar to the ‘Dark Feminine’ trend, and that is the whole appeal!

Venus in Sagittarius

Saint Laurent | Small Le 5 À 7 Shoulder Bag in Pony Hair | Dhs 12600

Whereas those who have their Venus in Sagittarius are drawn to eclectic styles of fashion. Think animal prints, graphic tees, and pieces bound by trompe-l’œil. It’s adventurous, playful, yet also laid back.

Venus in Capricorn

Alexander Wang | Logo embroidered Belted Blazer Dress | Dhs 4215

Similar to Aries and Cancer, those who have their Venus in Capricorn are drawn to power dressing and timeless quality pieces. Preferring structured silhouettes and quality fabric, Venus in Capricorn’s style is very similar to the ‘Quiet Luxury’ trend. We’re talking, professional yet elegant, like blazer dresses or tailored maxi skirts.

Venus in Aquarius

Thom Browne | Oxford Armband Cropped Round Collar Shirt | Dhs 2100

Another sign drawn to dressing outside the box, those who have their Venus in Aquarius are likely drawn to eccentric, androgynous fashion. Think alternative and edgy details that blur gender lines like baggy cargo pants and Thom Browne suits.
