Sole DXB, the region’s celebration of street culture, is on its way soon, and if there is one thing we can look forward to (apart from the stellar live performances, of course), it is the fashion. Whatever you think is weird, isn’t weird enough for the fashion-forward crowd here. Best described as unconventional, experimental, and plain cool, here are our tips for dressing for this year’s edition, with some much-needed guidance from the fashion-forward crowd of previous editions.
Be Experimental

It goes without saying, Sole DXB is the time to experiment with your clothing because why now? So go all out with layers, textures, or colours you wouldn’t normally think about. Treat it like a testing ground for your future style.
Lean Into the Colours of the Season

Whether that’s butter yellow, chocolate brown, or a deep, rich burgundy, you’re bound to have a cohesive fit and stand out by leaning into the colours of the season. It doesn’t have to be a monochromatic look either, a pop of colour is all you need to make a statement.
Look Local
Sole DXB is a time to celebrate local brands and what better way to implement that than to wear local! In case you need a springboard to start looking, niche markets like The Collective by Ripe feature exclusively local brands. Not only does it help boost the local economy, but wearing local helps to make a fun point of conversation about your outfit.
When in Doubt, Wear Streetwear

After all, Sole DXB is a festival based primarily on street culture so if you’re clueless on what to wear, you can’t go wrong with streetwear. In fact, it’s what most attendees will be sporting anyway—think baggy denim, Timberlands, bomber jackets, and bandanas.
If in Black, Try a Standout Accessory
Another common outfit you will notice at Sole DXB is an all black fit with a standout accessory. That could be a headpiece, a band, or funky shoes. While easy, it still leans towards streetwear while also being experimental, so if you just want to dip your toes in and not go all out, try pairing a plain black outfit with a colourful or bedazzled piece.
Go Crazy With Jewellery

Considering that this year’s jewellery trends are leaning towards maximalist jewellery, why not lean into it? Maximalism was a common theme in previous editions as well, whether that be through nails or ring stacks.
