It has been an uneasy weekend, with regional tensions rising with the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict, and the GCC region undergoing drone and missile attacks. According to the Ministry of Defence, the UAE Air Force and Air Defence Forces have so far dealt with 165 ballistic missiles, 2 cruise missiles, and 541 Iranian drones. While most missiles and drones were successfully intercepted, some missile debris and drones have hit civilian areas.
As such, airspace in the UAE has been closed indefinitely, and the UAE authorities have requested the public to stay indoors, avoid any non-essential travel, and stay informed through official verified sources.
Although we are safe according to UAE sources, most absorbing the conflict are justifiably stuck on what to do next. So here’s a quick guide on how to move on, so that we stay prepared, not panicked.

Keep Busy At Home
Although the anxiety of the situation is palpable, the greatest act of resistance is to not fall into fear. So while we should remain informed of the situation as it happens, it’s also advised to take breaks for the sake of mental clarity. Spend time with loved ones, exercise, indulge in art, TV, books, and movies. Participate in self-care rituals that help pull focus on the body and mind and help reduce stress and anxiety.
For those with pets, keep them away from windows to avoid instilling panic from the sonic booms. And for those with children, start with a gentle but honest conversation about the situation. Stick to facts, reassurance, and lead with empathy and emotional honesty. While there might not be straightforward answers to the current conflict, opening a conversation helps them feel comforted.
Beyond the family, it’s an important time to check in on the community. Between neighbours, friends, and relatives, it’s important to ensure those around us are safe and secure. This support system helps further understand that we’re not alone in this.
Donation Contacts
As of now, there are no official donation links to help those affected by the attacks. But since we are in the middle of Ramadan, there are plenty of charities currently operating their Ramadan campaigns to help those in need.
