Pat McGrath x Louis Vuitton Is the Beauty Collab to Know

A new take on the Monogram.

Louis Vuitton is taking its beauty line in a new direction. Dame Pat McGrath and Nicolas Ghesquière have joined forces for the house’s first beauty collaboration, creating a limited-edition collection of eyes and lips inspired by Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram.

The collection marks the first time Louis Vuitton La Beauté products will feature the house’s Monogram canvas, reimagined in two distinct colour stories; Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge.

Two Sides of Beauty

The partnership grew out of the creative connection McGrath and Ghesquière have built backstage at Louis Vuitton’s shows. Rather than following a traditional brief, McGrath and Ghesquière started with the mood of the collection, translating its energy into makeup.

The two explored the duality of women while looking to the house’s heritage for inspiration. With Louis Vuitton celebrating the 130th anniversary of its Monogram, the iconic canvas became a starting point for translating the house’s visual codes into colour and texture.

Monogram Dune takes its cues from shifting desert landscapes, with soft beiges, warm nudes and luminous tones designed to feel subtle but still make an impression. The collection includes the LV Ombres 724 Monogram Dune Eyeshadow Palette, a four-shade palette, alongside the LV Rouge 724 Monogram Dune Satin Lipstick in rosy beige and the LV Baume 098 Stellar Veil Topper Lip Balm, finished with holographic sparkle.

“You have the deep, dark, mysterious dangerous feel, then you have this soft dune feel,” McGrath said.

Then there’s Monogram Infrarouge, the darker, more expressive counterpart. Inspired by Louis Vuitton’s black-and-red Infrarouge canvas, the colour story leans into high contrast, smokey eyes and bold red lips.

“Monogram Infrarouge is unapologetic, high-contrast, playing with blacks and reds,” McGrath said.

The LV Ombres 715 Monogram Infrarouge Eyeshadow Palette features four shades, joined by a redcurrant-toned satin lipstick and the LV Baume 099 Galactic Veil Topper Lip Balm, scattered with iridescent glitter. McGrath describes the Infrarouge woman as someone who “defines herself on her own terms” and whose beauty “commands attention without ever asking for permission.”

So, why pick one when both can be equally fun? Soft neutrals for the day, smokey eyes and lived-in red lips for later. Simple as that.

Beauty Meets the Monogram

But the makeup is only half the story. The limited-edition collection also comes with a line of small leather goods and accessories, including lipstick pouches and mini vanities dressed in the Monogram canvases. The products are also refillable, bringing a little more thought to the otherwise highly collectible nature of the collaboration.

The eyeshadow palettes retail for approximately $340, while the lipsticks and balms are priced at around $195 each. The collection launches in China first, followed by an online launch on August 20 and a wider Louis Vuitton store launch from August 27.
