To Shop

Label Four

Label Four | Blue Ember | Dhs 950

Recently launched, the UAE-born abaya label works with the concept of fours. That is, four different drops with separate unique expressions. So far, drop 1 includes abayas with contrasting patterned panels, while drop 2 is a love letter to paisley prints. With 2 more drops left to go, the brand begins its start with showcasing all the ways a modest woman can express herself.

Max Mara | Le Parfum

Officially landing in Dubai, the latest fragrance by Max Mara makes the case for a skinscent that also works as a transitional scent for the changing weather. A woody floral, the scent opens with an intense tuberose accord before settling into a creamy vanilla and drying down to notes of cedarwood and sandalwood. Bottled up in a witty take on the house’s famed coats, it’s a sweet, comforting scent that charms the vanity and easily blends into the skin.

Jimmy Choo | Mall of the Emirates

For the shoe lovers—and frankly pearl lovers as well—make a pit stop at the newly redesigned Jimmy Choo boutique at Mall of the Emirates for a pearly invasion. Celebrating 30 years of its pearl motif with the Pearls of Wisdom collection, you can find cult-favourite designs alongside new creations. Sculptural furniture by Lebanese architect Shaha Raphael adds an angular, contemporary look to the classic collection.

The metro doesn’t have to be the only train station worth visiting this weekend. At Mall of the Emirates, Burberry Beauty has transformed the Central Galleria into a historic British train station complete with the iconic check. Called Platform B, the station spotlights Burberry Beauty’s fragrances—namely Gold, Her, and Hero—as well as its latest launches, the Goddess Amber Vanilla and Goddess Perfumed Hair Mist. Running until Saturday, October 10, the experience begins with collecting a stamped ticket at the ticket office before exploring the scents, personalising your favourites with engravings, indulging in British-inspired sweet treats, and of course, plenty of pictures to mark the occasion.

To Watch

The Social Reckoning

Starring Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, and Jeremy Strong, The Social Reckoning is a drama inspired by the 2021 Facebook leak by the whistleblower Frances Haugen and Jeff Horwitz. Considered a companion to the 2010 film The Social Network, the film brings engaging performances and a thought-provoking narrative that makes us reconsider how we engage with social media.

East of Eden | Netflix

Adapted from John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel of the same name, East of Eden is the latest period drama worth binging through the weekend. Starring Florence Pugh and Christopher Abbott, the series focuses on the life of Cathy Ames and takes place from the late 19th century to World War I.

Cinema Under the Stars | JLT Park

The return of a community favourite, Cinema Under the Stars brings family-friendly movies to JLT Park for a chill, community weekend movie night. Taking place every Saturday from 7:30 PM onward, expect to find childhood classics alongside animated favourites here.
