Tarun Tahiliani Is Bringing His Indian Couture House to Dubai

The Indian couturier opens his first international boutique in Jumeirah this October, following a Dubai Fashion Week showcase.

At Cannes last year, Gucci dressed Alia Bhatt in a GG-monogrammed, sari-inspired creation. This July, Manish Malhotra made a Paris Haute Couture Week debut, joining Indian designers Rahul Mishra and Gaurav Gupta on the calendar.

Indian couture is finding an increasingly prominent place in international fashion, and the latest name expanding beyond India is Tarun Tahiliani, with a first international boutique set to open in Dubai this October.

Located in Jumeirah, the boutique will mark the fashion house’s first permanent presence in the Middle East. To celebrate, Tarun Tahiliani will close Dubai Fashion Week with The Many Moods of Tarun Tahiliani, a runway presentation offering a closer look at the craftsmanship and design philosophy behind the label.

Since launching his eponymous house in 1994, Tarun Tahiliani has earned a reputation for his concept saris, pre-draped creations often constructed around corseted bodices, with pleats and folds engineered into the garment.

The same attention to fit runs through his bridalwear, from lightweight lehengas and sculpted dupattas to intricate chikankari, mukaish and zardozi embroidery. Movement and comfort are central to the designer’s approach, challenging the weight and restrictive construction traditionally associated with Indian bridal couture.

Over the years, the label has dressed an impressive roster of names, including Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga and Karlie Kloss, so it’s hardly a name reserved for the Indian wedding wardrobe.

“Dubai has always felt like a natural bridge between India and the world, and opening our first international store here marks an important new chapter for us,” the designer said of the expansion.

The Jumeirah boutique will carry bridal couture, occasion wear, menswear, accessories and fine jewellery, alongside OTT by Tarun Tahiliani, a contemporary luxury ready-to-wear line.

The Tarun Tahiliani boutique is scheduled to open in Jumeirah at the end of October 2026.
