Filming for the cult classic The Devil Wears Prada 2 has officially started with Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt. The original ensemble remained a mystery until 20th Century Studios confirmed it via Instagram that, yes! Anne Hathaway was back playing Andy Sachs.
The sequel is said to hit the cinemas in May 2026 with Aline Bros McKenna returning to pen the screenplay alongside David Frankel as the director and Wendy Finerman as the producer yet again.
At the end of the first movie, Andy Sachs (played by Anne Hathaway) leaves the Runway and joins a newspaper leaving the fans in dilemma for years—who was the real villain after all? Was it Andy’s boyfriend who never supported her or Miranda Priestly (played by Meryl Streep) with her brutal remarks? Was it the fashion industry slowly becoming toxic?
Even though the plot has not been confirmed, the sequel is said to portray how Miranda Priestly will deal with the decline of print magazine industry which will force her to mend ways with her assistant Emily (played by Emily Blunt) who is the head of a luxury brand’s advertising spend.
