Issue 002: Editor’s Letter

Why do we need a new era of modest coastal fashion?

I’m writing this on the tail end of July, mentally unpacking a season that always feels too brief. The suitcases in the lounge can wait, right now we’re taking stock of everything the first half of the year flung our way—wins, wobbles, and all the in-between moments we rarely post about. Holiday blues haven’t even unpacked themselves and already the question hovers: What’s next? That’s the rhythm of a multi-faceted woman in a fast-paced world.

Late summer is a pause between it all, an invitation to slow, to reflect, to step from one chapter into the next. Yet even in this pause we need a wardrobe that takes us through it all. But does every modest woman truly have access to pieces that let her own the shoreline on her own terms? Can she stroll a resort, swim a secluded bay, or lounge by the villa pool without worrying that the dress code forgot her? A bikini isn’t everyone’s choice, it certainly doesn’t speak to every interpretation of modesty, but should that mean shrinking from the water?

Issue 002 is our answer. Across these pages we explore the slower, coastal corners of the modest fashion calendar and how a summer closet can belong to all of us.

Fronting this issue is Danya Mohammed—better known as the Diva Dee—who is basically everything I meant by the word multi-faceted. Reality-TV favourite from Dubai Bling, multi-business owner, podcast host, mother, and wife, Danya moves through each role with the same ease she brings to her impeccably layered modest looks.

As we enter a season of transition, Issue 002 is a reminder that taking stock isn’t standing still and that the space between seasons, in fashion or in life, is where the next chapter gathers its momentum.

Love,
