Not every weekend needs to be filled to the brim with social events and parties. Sometimes, weekending can also mean doing things that help you relax. For this weekend, we’ve focused our guide on rest and relaxation—from comfort movies that will make you laugh, to comfort food that will energise you for the upcoming week.

To Shop

Arooba Beauty

Supplied

UAE-based Arooba Beauty has taken their clean-glam creations and have gone retail! Just recently, they announced their retail debut with H&M, launching in Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates. Whereas this weekend, the brand goes international, launching in KSA at Riyadh Park Mall.

And with the milestone comes a new palette, the ‘Billion Dollar Baby’. Just like its name, the palette features a collection of pinks, mauves, browns and blues in mattes and shimmers to make the eyes look like they cost a billion dollars. Infused with skin-loving ingredients such as Tuberose, Argan Oil, Beetroot Extract, and Vitamin E to take care of the delicate eye area, it’s another skincare-makeup hybrid that makes up the ethos of Arooba Beauty.

Fabric of Society

As we prep our wardrobes for the upcoming festive season, Fabric of Society has given us a curated cheat sheet of occasionwear designed for every social gathering in mind through their ‘Invitation Edit’. Featuring Benedetta Bruzziches’ crystal-embellished bags, Magda Butrym’s floral heels, and Maygel Coronel’s playful dresses, among others, there’s plenty to play around with to curate a festive wardrobe that will carry you across sundowners to galas.

Iliana Rooftop

Dubai has another cool new rooftop! Make your way to Iliana Rooftop at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, opening Friday, November 7. It has the vibe of a Greek island, offers Burj Al Arab views, and golden hour experience that rolls into late night with resident DJs, Sunday to Wednesday 5 pm to 1 am and Thursday to Saturday 5 pm to 3 am. Order scallop sashimi, octopus and carabineros skewers, plus the Blueberry and Lime Sour, Eros or Afrodita.

Mott 32, Address Beach Resort JBR

The atmosphere is perfect for stretching lunch into late afternoon with good drinks and better company. Dress cute, book ahead, let the day run long.

To Experience

The Spa | Address Dubai Mall, Downtown Dubai

Spend the weekend in serene relaxation. Reopening its doors, The Spa offers an escape from city life, the hustle, and its fast-paced nature. You can take your pick of holistic treatments that soothe both mind and body, from an authentic Hammam experience to awaken mind and body, to their De-Puffing Cryo Facial, which sculpts and illuminates the complexion, making you radiant and recharged for the next week.

Sunrise Yoga Class | Azure Beach Club Dubai x Samsara Tribe Yoga Studio

Weekending in Dubai
Supplied

As part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, Azure Beach Club Dubai and Samsara Tribe Yoga Studio are calling out the early birds for a sunrise yoga session. Offering an energising start to the day, these sessions will take place every Sunday at 8 AM. After class, participants can enjoy a set-menu breakfast accompanied by the calming sounds of crashing waves.

To Watch

Frankenstein

The latest adaptation of Mary Shelly’s 1818 novel, Frankenstein. Written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, the story follows Dr Victor Frankenstein, an egotistical scientist who experiments and brings a creature to life. While this tale is a classic horror story, Guillermo del Toro reimagines the novel into a tale of sentimental character study, leaning less into horror and more into a gothic drama.

Groom & Two Brides

A Netflix original set in Kuwait, Groom & Two Brides is a heartfelt romantic comedy made for cosy weekend watching. Following the absurd story of Adam, played by Abdullah Boushehri, who is accidentally engaged to two women, the film has all the classic rom-com tropes with a regional spin.
