The best part about fashion month is the new collections. The next best thing is the street style. It’s the spot where a simple scarf can get reinvented, reimagined, and repurposed. Where nothing is ever too much. While there are so many street style looks from fashion month to go over, we’re turning our attention to denim. How the casual-coded fabric appeared on the streets before sitting before the runways. And more importantly, how the fashion-forward made this fabric their own.

Baggy Denim

Denim trends continue to stay baggy, and the folks en route to fashion week continued to stay true to them! Although casual, baggy denim jeans came in all sorts of aesthetics—casual, semi-formal, and ‘70s chic.

Paired with Furs

For those who went the typical way of styling denim, AKA the casual approach, furs appeared to be a common pairing. Deep browns, chic whites, and plush greys, each fur coat complemented its corresponding blue pair.

Patchwork Denim

A standout look during London Fashion Week, we’re surprised to not see more patchwork denim looks out there!

Denim Jackets

For some, repping denim didn’t mean a pair of blue jeans but a stiff jacket that softens over time. For fashion month, we saw a variety of jackets that shaped different styles. Some went the Y2K route, while others went the sporty style route. At London Fashion Week, a guest wore a jacket intermingled with printed fabric, allowing the denim to become a canvas.

Spotted at London Fashion Week, this faux-jean shirt couldn’t help but be an eyecatcher. Paired with white denim, it’s a quirky look that we love.

Denim Boots Made For Walking

Another odd look that appeared during London Fashion Week was a guest in an all-denim ensemble, including denim knee-high boots, complete with little belts to hoister them up!

Colour Blocked Denim

Since denim normally comes in a rich shade of blue, it makes for easy colour blocking for a standout outfit. Over fashion month, we saw the shade of blue contrast with bright reds, crisp whites, and dark olive green.

Denim Skirts

For the modest dresser, a maxi denim skirt is a given. So it’s a welcome surprise to find new ways of styling the piece. Paris Fashion Week saw plenty of denim skirts, both midi and maxi, made stylish with lace and contrasting denim trims.

A Canadian Tuxedo, But Stylish

And finally, fashion month saw its fair share of Canadian Tuxedos made stylish, from a sleeveless jumpsuit with chunky gold jewellery to a full-on skirt suit made completely out of denim.
