Since the smash success of Brat, Charli XCX has been on an upward trajectory. Her single party 4 u went viral 5 years after its release, and then her album for the movie Wuthering Heights showcased a sound that made fans wonder if this was the next move. Well, just this week, the singer announced that her 8th album is on the way, and here is everything to know about it.

Titled Music, Fashion, Film, the LP will be officially out on July 24, 2026 and will feature 11 tracks, including the already released Rock Music and SS26, a brief teaser of what the album is set to sound like. Working with producer A.G Cook, a longtime collaborator of the singer, this album is set to be a long way away from Brat and dance music. Instead, the sound will be rock-based, with plenty of guitars and grunge-y vocals. Reportedly, Charli mentions that this album is her “version of analogue”.

And just like Brat, Music, Fashion, Film’s songwriting will centre on Charli’s interior. While Brat was mainly about the singer’s relationship to fame, celebrity life, and her relationship with her husband musician George Daniel, Music, Fashion, Film will focus on the singer’s relationship to art and how it gives her a sense of purpose.

Visually, so far, the album’s aesthetics are just as stripped back. Black and white has taken over, an obvious departure from “brat green” and the neon party girl aesthetic. The album cover features rock musician John Cale, designer Marc Jacobs, and filmmaker Martin Scorsese. Shot by photographer Aidan Zamiri, we can assume the three men all lay the inspiration behind Music, Fashion, Film. The singer has had her hand in all three avenues recently, with the latest being an A24 mockumentary called The Moment. Starring Charli XCX and directed by Aidan Zamiri, the film was a satirised version of the singer’s pop star life. And now, with a little more than 6 weeks left to go, maybe we can expect a short film based around the album’s music and ideas. Time will tell how the new era will shape up, but so far, it’s an exciting new chapter after directing a prominent part of pop culture. Now, we’re eyeing a Music, Fashion, Film summer.
