For SS27, Copenhagen gave us plenty to work with. The runways brought interesting textures, layers, sporty pieces and feminine cuts, while the street style crowd made a strong case for bold colour, headscarves and some very good layering.

Copenhagen street style has never exactly shied away from colour, and SS27 was no different. Rusty brown, blush pink and unexpected colour pairings were everywhere, usually doing the job of making an otherwise simple outfit feel a little less basic.

If there’s one thing the SS27 runways have made clear so far, it’s that clothes should be interesting to look at and, ideally, touch. Fringe, feathers, ruffles, fuzzy fabrics and seriously textured knits all made an appearance. For fashion week, let one piece do the talking and keep everything else simple.
Consider the Cape
The cape has officially left costume territory behind. At Copenhagen Fashion Week, it showed up in everything from floor-length satin and sequins to cleaner, neutral versions. For anyone attending, it’s one of those pieces that does most of the styling for you. Throw one over a simple dress, add a pair of good shoes and voilà, you have a look.

The mob-wife aesthetic is getting a warm-weather update. Think strong shoulders, draped dresses, capris and sharp accessories instead of floor-length fur and sunglasses big enough to hide your entire face. It’s glamorous without tipping into costume territory, perfect if you like your fashion week wardrobe with a little movie-star energy.
Don’t Underestimate the Little Details
Sometimes, the outfit is really in the accessories. Copenhagen’s street style crowd made a convincing case for pillbox hats, colourful hair clips, playful bags and sunglasses with enough personality to deserve their own entrance.
The good news? You don’t need to buy an entirely new wardrobe. Throw a fun bag on something you already own, add some ridiculous sunglasses and suddenly, the outfit is giving.

Fashion week requires a surprising amount of stuff. Sunglasses, lip balm, phone charger, camera, invitations, emergency flats, suddenly that tiny evening bag doesn’t seem quite so clever.
The oversized tote is back in a big way, with the street style crowd favouring roomy bags that can actually fit all the chaos while still looking good. Go for interesting textures, an unexpected shape or a bold colour so it feels less like you’re carrying your entire life around and more like you meant to.
