Soigné Middle East’s Edit Of What To Do In Dubai This October

Your go-tos to dine, shop, and experience
LIMÉ AW26

Another month begins with a series of reopenings, launches, and more. But instead of rushing the month with things to do, we have curated things to go on a slower level. Unhurried dining, slow staycations, and workshops that put our creativity to the test. Rounding them up, here is our edit for what to do this October.

To Dine

On Tuesdays, ladies can get 5 drinks and 20% off the menu starting from Dhs 150. On Wednesdays, guests can get 3 drinks and their choice of a main dish and sunlounger, starting from Dhs 175. While the weekend comes with a series of brunches that make days by the beach all the more unforgettable.

Between hard water, fluctuating temperatures, and inescapable humidity, the city leaves us with a love-hate relationship with our hair. Australian-born brand SLICKHAIR keeps that relationship firmly in the ‘love’ range. With a series of gels, smoothing brushes, and the cult-favourite SLICK STICK, you can take your pick from serum bases and wax formulations that keep the hair in place. Their arsenal also includes the Dream Cream, a hair cream that tames frizz, adds shine, and hydrates the hair; the Anti-Flyaway Gel Duo, a gel that gives that brushable wet-look; and the Anti-Frizz Hair Oil, a no-nonsense hair oil formulated with argan and jojoba oils to nourish and protect the hair.

Looking to engage in art? This month a whole host of exhibitions are open to the public and one of our particular favourites is The Butterfly’s Burden by Nada Elkalaawy. Borrowed from the poetry of Mahmoud Darwish, the exhibition is a dialogue across beauty and the emotional weight of its context. Elkalaawy explores memory, loss, regeneration, and the passage of time with motifs of nature, family photographs, and more. Although melancholic, the exhibition also focuses on hope, resistance, and growth, like the metamorphosis of a butterfly.
