This weekend, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures held its sixth annual gala to celebrate the art of cinema and fundraise for its yearly programme of museum exhibitions, education initiatives, and public screenings. Attending the fundraiser was the who’s who of the movie world, alongside singers, artists, and more.

The night raised over $14 million and was co-chaired by Tom Ford, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg, and Kate Capshaw. However, we’re still stuck on the red carpet moments, dissecting some of our favourite modest looks of the night. Here’s everyone who stunned on the night’s beige carpet.

Janelle Monáe

Forever sparkling in the most avant-garde costumes, Janelle Monáe showed up to the carpet in a Robert Wun butterfly gown. Part of the designer’s Fall 2026 Haute Couture collection, the look on Monáe was complete with the purple ombre gloves and detailed butterfly bust. The headpiece as seen on the runway was forsaken for hip padding and sculpted hair that framed her face. A semi-curtain bang took over one side of the forehead and felt intentionally cool rather than 2000s emo.

Jodie Turner-Smith

Joining Monáe in an equally striking outfit was actress Jodie Turner-Smith, who appeared in Mugler SS27. A lilac zebra print skirt suit, Turner-Smith replicated almost the entire look off the runway, adding the matching bag and tilted headpiece. On the feet however, sat a neutral pair of Christian Louboutin pumps with a bold red stiletto. Breaking up the look, it adds an extra glamorous vibe to the outfit rather than leaning towards costume territory. Joining them are diamond studs and naturally luminous skin.

Serena Göransson

The executive music producer for Sinners, musician Serena Göransson, came to the beige carpet in a delicious muted velvet cape gown. From the American brand RODARTE, Göransson paired the look with a wide side part and left the face-framing pieces in soft waves. Whereas the gown brings the whole show. Designed with a dark floral pattern, a mock turtleneck, and cape sleeves, the gown is perfectly suited to the modest dresser, or even a moody romantic.

Zoey Deutch

Continuing the floral theme, and a look into visible texture, was Zoey Deutch who opted for a custom Prada dress. A white gown in grey and yellow sequins, the sequins were cut up into petals to give off the appearance of shiny flowers. Joining the look were simple beachy waves that framed Deutch’s face, which flattered her features and clearly allowed all the shine to fall across the dress.

Sarah Pidgeon

One of the nine dressed in Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel, Sarah Pidgeon went for brighter hues compared to her peers. Wearing an orange sequinned dress (with pockets, of course!), the piece was quintessential Chanel with the boxy silhouettes and an illusion of a dropped wait. Part of the house’s FW26 Haute Couture collection, the actress paired the look with cream kitten heels and her new warm blonde hair.

Maya Hawke

Maya Hawke took to the carpet in a custom black and silver sequin and crystal Prada gown. The sequins were applied like fringes, making the whole look even better as it moved. Designed for playful motion, it aptly describes the messaging of the Academy Museum Gala with fabric.

Miyako Bellizzi

Joining the gala’s Chanel squad was Miyako Bellizzi in Chanel FW26. The costume designer wore an embellished midi dress that featured a series of black and gold sequins. On the neckline was a red trim, creating a faux necklace. And since the look already brought the wow factor in, the designer stripped the rest of the look back with a slick bun and black sandals.

Rhea Seehorn

Wearing Balenciaga FW26 Haute Couture, Rhea Seehorn kept things relatively simple by taking style notes as seen at the Balenciaga runway. The furry pants almost look like a skirt while the shirt train is just as fresh and interesting as it was earlier this year. Complementing the look is Seehorn’s cropped bob and accentuated pouf.
