All the Highlights from Dubai Fashion Week SS26: Day 1

A celebration of couture

Dubai Fashion Week kicked off on the evening of September 1 at D3 with a multi-cultural couture show featuring three standout designers, once again setting the tone for the global fashion calender’s Spring/Summer 2026 circuit. Team Soigné was onsite, getting details of attendees’ fits, and enjoying the runway shows.

Rizman Ruzaini

Malaysian maison Risman Ruzaini marked its 20th anniversary and the opening night of Dubai Fashion Week all at once, debuting its SS26 demi-couture collection entitled ‘RIMBA’; a visually striking showcase of the Malay designer’s culture and the maison’s couture, inspired by the lush rainforests of Southeast Asia, and all the wondrous flora and fauna that reside within. Models strutted down the runway in stunning architectural creations, taken from an earth-toned palette of deep greens, rich reds, and velvet blacks.

HebaJasmi

Details, details, details! HebaJasmi’s show brought forth the fashion heritage of Emirati culture with her SS26 collection ‘Born to Rise’, exploring what it means to be a modern woman, how she evokes power and strength through softness. With fluid silks draped elegantly over silhouettes, exquisite crystal detailing, and an engaging, intentional structure in every piece and every shade, from midnight navy to mint jade.

Krésha Bajaj

Indian designer Krésha Bajaj’s international debut was a love letter to women, with bold silhouettes and expert craftsmanship, all immersed in an air of couture. The show unfolded in three chapters – Revelation, Obsession, and Liberation – through an elegant palette of soft blushes, dark charcoals, and antique golds.
