Sporting events are now the new catwalk, but for a historic tournament like Wimbledon, showing up to see and be seen has been part of the agenda for as long as the tournament has existed.
Previously, it was the royals and players that brought looks worth discussing. Nowadays, we have digital creators and the fashion-forward added to our radar as well. And among them, we got spunky tennis ball shoes inspired by Zendaya’s 2024 appearance—and akin to Chanel AW26—, tennis-inspired bags, and vivid colours among the delicate white and cream dresses that adhere to the tournament’s historical dress code.

One person who cheekily adapted the dress code to her culture was Naomi Osaka, who has a knack for bringing couture to the court. Working with designers to create show-stopping outfits, her first Wimbledon 2026 appearance came with a pristine white ensemble by Tokyo-based designer Hana Yagi. Inspired by the Japanese ceremonial dress, Osaka immediately turned heads during her walk-out, before revealing her Nike tennis outfit for the game.

By the audience, Catherine, Princess of Wales was also seen in a head-turning look. Previously attending Wimbledon with skirts and dresses, the Princess broke her streak this time with a blue linen suit by Gabriela Hearst. The brilliant blue was complemented with sapphire and lapis jewellery as well as a green friendship bracelet, speculated to be made by her daughter, Princess Charlotte of Wales.

Whereas singer Ellie Goulding attended in head-to-toe Chloé. With a polka dot dress in black silk jacquard, the singer paired the look with a chic pair of Matilda heels. Completing the look was a Mulberry’s Bayswater handbag in black, croc-embossed leather, and a pair of cateye sunnies.
It’s an obvious tonal shift to what we consider Wimbledon dressing, but despite that, there were plenty among the fashion-forward who kept it traditional. Here are our favourite modest picks:
