Fabric of Society Spotlights Regional Talent With ‘The Artist & The Muse’ Series

An interplay of fashion, storytelling, and the energy of two creative forces

The best part about fashion is all the artistic components it holds. How fashion comes with a story, how it brings forth ideas, how it can be politicised, and how it is redefined with the wearer. Fabric of Society, the luxury-based e-commerce platform, has decided to play on this artistry, redefining it and pushing it further with their new series ‘The Artist & The Muse’.

Spotlighting regional creatives, this series is completely unscripted and was created instinctively. The series features two “characters”, model and actress Lana Al Beik and photographer Omar Sha3. In a series of editorials and short films, two explore their creative dynamic, transforming fashion as something more than just visual language, but as something intimate, something shared, a creation born out of two artistic forces.

Shot in Dubai aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2, the editorial fuses modern luxury with historical grandeur. Think Titanic but contemporary. The two short films let us in deeper as we get to see the atmosphere of the shoot, which explains the energy behind each editorial. We watch Lana and Omar sit on the stairs, recounting the memories of their relationship and interviewing each other. It’s a peek into their friendship but also a deeper look into how an artist and muse complement one another.

And beyond the storytelling is the stunning fashion, courtesy of Fabric of Society. A tailored jacket in a picture of irony, an all white ensemble in a boat of woody brown accents, and a sequined gown that plays on the concept of historical grandeur and modern elegance. The clothes here are more than just fabric; in this editorial, they help shape the story, lending themselves to be the third, unspoken, “character” in ‘The Artist & The Muse’.
